CNC milling machines are one of the most widely used CNC machines. CNC milling machines are developed on the basis of universal milling machines. When cutting CNC milling machines, cutting vibration is an unavoidable condition in the machining process. It refers to the vibration phenomenon generated during processing.

In fact, reasonable cutting vibration has little effect on the quality of the machining. However, once the cutting vibration is intensified, there is aviolent vibration having an amplitude exceeding several tens of μm, which isusually accompanied by a large noise. During the cutting process, if the vibration may exceed 100 μm, the tool or workpiece may be loose. If the cutting vibration amplitude exceeds 100 μm, the part cannot be processed. When the amplitude is less than 100 μm, although it can be processed, a significantvibration scratch occurs on the machined surface, which is unacceptable for the finished surface of the part. Therefore, the cutting vibration should belimited to a reasonable range.

Solution to the cutting vibration of CNC milling machine components:


1.Reasonably arrange the path of the knife

The correct placement of the path is very important for cutting. Whether it is cutting down or cutting upwards, as long as the direction of the milling forceis consistent with the clamping direction of the workpiece, it is advantageousto eliminate the vibration of the curved part. Today's milling machines, suchas CNC milling machines, and vertical machining centers, are equipped with ballor roller screws, which is very helpful in eliminating vibration duringcutting.


2.Make a reasonable cut

When CNC milling machines use a slender end mill to mill deep cavities, they are often used for plunge milling. Plunge milling means that the tool enters thetool axially like a drill bit. When milling a deep cavity, the suspension ofthe long rod is usually more than three times the diameter of the tool bar. Were commend using the axial feed method. Adjusting the cutting parameters is onlyeffective if the cutting vibration is not severe.
